MELLIN Premium Greek Honey Fir with Thyme

Thick and limpid honey of amber colour with golden yellow tints. Characterized by a smell of wood and smoke. Its taste is slightly sweet with a long-lasting effect. Its flavour is of medium strength with tones of malt and caramel.

Our honey “ΜΕΛΛΗΝ“ of a limited production is produced of fir trees and thyme of Mt Giona and wild flowers and herbs of the wider region, as well. Mt Giona, in the Municipality of Delphi, also known as Asselinon Oros (mountain without moon) in the antiquity, with a maximum altitude of 2,508m, hosts our apiary. More specifically, it is located in Raches, an area of incredible natural beauty. The lush vegetation of the area in combination with the traditional way of production and standardization, solely kept by our family, attribute all those features to our product which make it stand out for its exceptional quality.

In this place the light enchants everything. Everyone is captivated by this light. The filter is the honey. He was aware the father of gods, Zeus the melissefs, who was raised thanks to this. Moreover, the honey gave strength to a second god, his son Apollo. Penetrating his body it became music, speech and theatre. In addition he blessed the secret voice of Pythia giving her the greatest power that exists in the world.
Perhaps the honey is very close to whatever all of us desire, the search for truth.

The name “ΜΕΛΛΗΝ“ comes from the combination of the greek words ΜΕΛΙ – ΕΛΛΗΝ – ΜΕΛΛΟΝ which mean honey, Greek and future respectively. The selection of the jar as well as the design of the whole package is based on the golden number Φ and the Euclidean geometry. The inspiration of the right side of the package has come from the Temple of Apollo in Delphi, in the vestibule of which the two well-known aphorisms ΓΝΩΘΙ ΣΕΑΥΤΟΝ (Know Thyself) and ΜΗΔΕΝ ΑΓΑΝ (Everything in Moderation) were inscribed on either sides of the sacred letter E. These 2 aphorisms, together with 145 more, were the mortgage the Seven Sages of Ancient Greece handed over to the next generations, benefits to the human life.
