We should note that chamomile, among others, includes potassium, magnesium, and calcium. Potassium contributes to nerve impulses transfer, muscle contractility control, and blood pressure maintenance. Magnesium is involved in the formation of the bones, teeth, and tendons, in the transmission of nerve impulses, in energy release from muscles, as well as protein production, and in blood vessels relaxation and heart rate regulation. Calcium is involved in the formation of the skeleton, it maintains the heart pace, muscle contraction, and the transmission of nerve impulses, and also determines which substances go through cell membranes.
When applied externally, it contributes to the healing of burns and eczemas while it is quite useful to gingivitis and eyewashes. Chamomile compresses soothe any kind of skin problem.
Chamomile can also be used in cosmetics mainly due to its beneficial and soothing properties on the skin. It is a key ingredient in cleansing, de-make up, and hydrating skin products.

PREPARATION
As a beverage, place a few leaves in 96oC water. Allow it to sit for 4-6 minutes in a covered pot and then strain. Drink warm or cold. Add honey if desired.

ANTIOXIDANT
The flavonoids it contains are of particular interest to inflammatory reactions due to their antioxidant action.

DIGESTION
It is widely used for peptic ulcers, bloating, stomach heartburn, gall bladder problems, intestinal gas, gastritis, hemorrhoids, and indigestion.

SLEEP
It relieves respiratory problems, colds, coughing, and fever, fighting insomnia and enhancing sleep.

ANXIETY
Chamomile's properties are attributed to its active substances such as coumarin, essential oils, flavonoids, azulene, and minerals. Nowadays the most commonly known property of chamomile is connected to its ability to calm and relax.
