Important Update for U.S. Customers – Import Duties & Fees

Effective date: August 29, 2025

The U.S. government has removed the De Minimis $800.00 exemption for all commercial imports. As a result, every shipment from the European Union (EU) to the United States is now subject to U.S. Customs duties and applicable fees, regardless of order value.

How duties are applied

  • Products of European Union origin: a minimum 15% duty applies.
    • If the standard Harmonized Tariff rate for a product is lower than 15% (e.g., 10%), at least 15% will be charged.
    • If the standard rate is higher than 15% (e.g., 20%), the higher rate will apply.
  • Mixed-origin or special materials: Items containing components from non-EU countries or materials such as copper or aluminum may incur different tariffs as determined by U.S. Customs.

Additional processing fee

Starting September 2025, UPS applies an International Processing Fee of €2.35 per shipment to cover the required customs handling procedures for all exports from the EU to the U.S.

What this means for you

  • Duties, taxes, and customs fees are paid by the recipient and collected by U.S. Customs or the carrier.
  • Elenianna continues shipping from the EU to the U.S. via UPS: Express Plus, Express, Express Saver, Expedited & Worldwide Express Freight.
  • Delivery times may vary due to customs processing in the U.S.

Tips before you order

  • Consider the estimated duty rate for your product category (HS/HTS code).
  • Ensure the shipping address and contact details are accurate to avoid clearance delays.
  • Track your shipment and respond promptly to any customs or carrier notifications.
