Lazaris Kumquat Liqueur – Citrus Liqueur, 200ml

Be the first to review this product
A citrus liqueur from Corfu made with kumquat, produced by Lazaris using a traditional extraction method passed down through generations.
Manufacturer: lazaris Artisan
SKU: EL2138

Lazaris Kumquat Liqueur is a 200ml citrus liqueur made from kumquat, the small orange fruit strongly associated with the island of Corfu. Produced by the Lazaris distillery, it has an alcohol strength of 20% by volume.

About Lazaris and the Corfu kumquat

Lazaris is a Greek producer based in Corfu, where the kumquat has become closely linked to local identity. As the distillery describes it, the kumquat liqueur is considered a trademark of the island, and the Lazaris version is noted for its quality. The kumquat itself is not native to Corfu; it was introduced to the island from China, and it has since become one of the fruits most associated with the region's culinary character.

How the liqueur is made

Kumquats are collected from Corfiot orchards, cleaned and washed, then placed together with alcohol in stainless steel tanks so that the fruit's aromatic compounds, natural color and flavor substances can be drawn out over time. A syrup is then added to balance the composition, followed by filtering and bottling. This is described as a traditional method that has been carried forward within the distillery across generations.

Serving

Kumquat liqueur of this style is typically served chilled and enjoyed after a meal, in the manner of a digestif. Its citrus character makes a small chilled glass a natural way to close a dinner rather than open one.
